GMO: a slap to Monsanto in Europe

Ecology

Finally some good news side of GMOs in Europe, while a royal road to the promised Monsanto GM maize MON 810, the 27 member states of Europe have rejected the request of the European Commission to lift the ban culture which had been taken in Austria and Hungary, thanks to a huge majority (22 of 27).
The cultivation of genetically modified organisms in Europe is therefore a big blow to the head and the European Commission also seems to be more cases of interest of a multinational (the heavy liabilities), as European public opinion.

To recall the AFSSA (French Agency for Food Safety) had issued a report last month which argued that GMOs were safe for health and thus put France in a difficult position as France and Greece have them also prohibited on their territory the GM maize MON 810. The procedure against France and Greece could be suspended.

This is only a battle won, but O how important, Europe would wake it? Let us be vigilant, because lobbies exercised with senior European officials are not about to stop.

GM no thank you.
