Hyperactivity (Part 1), the diagnosis

hyperactivity ADHD

Maverick has always been an active child and rather nervous, but without major concern. Around the age of 3 years, we have realized a certain restlessness, a rebellious temperament, a denial of authority, punctuated by silly things like riding on the roof, call people in supermarkets, reverse the aquarium in his bed, put the thermometer into electrical outlets etc ... in short, he had not listened to anything, without any sense of danger and despite vigilance at all times on our part.

After trying to challenge our education system, recognizing that there was something wrong, we consulted a specialist in behavior. The latter sent us see a pediatrician in the hospital to confirm the diagnosis of hyperactive children with ADHD (Deficit Disorder of Attention - Hyperactivity). After tests and questionnaires, it confirmed the diagnosis of our doctor.

We had finally put a name on the problem of our son, but how to treat egg?
Well at 3 ½ years, there is no answer drug therapy only cognitive behavioral therapy, of course we said ok for the behavioral therapy but only there is no therapist for children in our region, So the only alternative proposed was to wait to see the evolution of the child until its 6 years. Medicine tells us make do for now and maybe we can do something in three years.
